We are just back from Turkey. Oh! What a country! I was truly baffled by the numerous roman settlements; they are in ruins, of course. One cannot but help wonder how well the romans flourished there to build such elaborate towns, complete with marketplaces, baths, libraries, amphitheaters and hippodromes; to name a few.
